Is the charger really at the hotel?
Ask whether it is on the property, in a separate nearby garage or accessible only through valet service. Those arrangements can create very different arrival plans. Get the location, network and charging type, not just a yes-or-no answer.
Tesla describes Destination Charging at places such as hotels, restaurants and garages for longer visits. It is distinct from Supercharging. A brand label does not by itself establish your vehicle’s eligibility or the power at that property.
A message to send before booking
I’m arriving on [date] with [vehicle and connector]. Is the charger on your property, and which connector and charging type does it offer? Is charging limited to overnight guests? Can you reserve a charging space, or is it first come, first served? What are the charging, parking or valet fees? May I leave the car connected overnight, or must it move after charging? What should I do if the charger is unavailable when I arrive?
Ask the actual property and retain its reply. A room reservation, a parking reservation and a charging-space reservation are different things. A chain-wide amenities page may not answer the questions for your stay.
Check the overnight rules
- Will you need a gate code, room key or staff help after reception hours?
- Must the vehicle move when charging finishes?
- Does a time-based charge continue while the car remains connected?
- If valet handles charging, how do handover and early-morning collection work?
Charging access hours, reception hours and venue hours should be checked separately. Do not infer permission to occupy a charging space all night from an “EV charging” icon.
Keep a usable backup
Save another stop with an appropriate connection and access at the time you may need it. A nearby map pin is not necessarily a convenient drive or a usable late-night alternative; directory distances are straight-line unless marked otherwise.
If you leave early, consider how an unavailable hotel charger would affect the next day’s plan. Use current operator information and your vehicle’s trip planning tools; a directory listing cannot guarantee charging or battery range.
Use the directory to narrow the search
Search a city, ZIP code or hotel name, then inspect the charging and access notes. Keep guest-only restrictions in mind when comparing a hotel with a public charging site.
For a longer stay, lower-power charging may be useful even when a strict fast-charging filter excludes it. See charging-time estimates. Report corrections for the exact property with dated evidence rather than applying one hotel’s rules to an entire chain.
